Cheryl is set to appear on TV for the first time since Liam Payne’s death and will open up about her son during a new interview with her Girls Aloud bandmates
Cheryl is set to reveal more about her son in an upcoming TV interview, which was recorded before the tragic death of Liam Payne. This will be the first time the Girls Aloud singer has appeared on television since the One Direction star tragically fell from his hotel room window in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Cheryl and Liam were parents to 7 year old Bear. The interview, which also features her Girls Aloud bandmates – Nadine Coyle, Nicola Roberts, and Kimberley Walsh, took place on Oct. 8, just days before Liam’s untimely passing, and is scheduled to air this weekend. During the chat, the group enthusiastically discussed their reunion tour.
“The music industry is such a young place, that when you’re that young and you’re shrouded in that ageism you just think we could never possibly do that at that age,” Nicola mused. Cheryl then pointed out “how fortunate” she and her three remaining bandmates are to reunite 22 years after first being formed on Popstars: The Rivals.
She also briefly touched on her son. The singer confessed that she, Kimberly, and Nadine “became a bit cooler” with their kids as they joined them on tour earlier this year, reports the Mirror US.

Following Liam’s death, Cheryl shared a heartfelt tribute. She wrote: “Liam was not only a pop star and a celebrity, he was a son, a brother, an uncle, a dear friend and a father to our seven-year-old son. A son that now has to face the reality of never seeing his father again.”
It’s still unclear whether Cheryl, who split from Liam in 2018, will be present at his funeral or if she’ll bring their son Bear along. Liam tragically passed away in Argentina on Oct.1 6, leading to charges against three individuals connected to his death.
Prosecutors issued a statement earlier this month stating that the unnamed men are now officially under investigation for allegedly abandoning someone who later died and for supplying and facilitating drugs.
One of the individuals is described as someone who “routinely accompanied Liam during his stay in Buenos Aires.”
