Spider-Man Noir is Marvel’s latest action television series, marking the striking return of Nicolas Cage as the noir version of Peter Parker — an aged private detective living in the dark and dangerous streets of 1930s New York City. After previously voicing the character in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018), Cage now brings Spider-Man Noir to life in a live-action version, offering a deeper, grittier take on the hero.
In this series, Peter Parker is no longer the youthful hero we know, but a world-weary man haunted by a dark past. When ghosts from his history resurface, he’s forced to confront dangerous criminal underworlds led by the ruthless mob boss Norman Osborn. With its rich noir setting, the series promises a gripping, dramatic, and emotionally layered story.
Developed by Oren Uziel and Steve Lightfoot, and produced by Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Amy Pascal, Spider-Man Noir consists of eight 45-minute episodes. Filmed in Los Angeles with a classic black-and-white aesthetic, it aims to faithfully recreate the atmosphere of traditional noir cinema. The series is set to premiere on MGM+ in late 2025 before launching globally on Amazon Prime Video.
In addition to Nicolas Cage, the cast includes Lamorne Morris as journalist Robbie Robertson, Brendan Gleeson as a powerful crime boss, along with Li Jun Li, Abraham Popoola, Jack Huston, and Karen Rodriguez. Blending classic noir style with the modern superhero genre, Spider-Man Noir is poised to become one of Marvel’s most intriguing releases of 2025.
